To begin with, beat the chicken eggs well with granulated sugar. Then add the pre-softened margarine (or butter), soda and salt. All these ingredients are mixed thoroughly. After that, add the sifted flour to the mass. Knead a smooth, homogeneous dough. We divide it into two halves.
From the first half we make five identical lumps and put them in the freezer. Roll out the remaining half of the dough on a greased baking sheet. Now we take the jam (any not very liquid, I had it currant) and spread it evenly on the dough. Now we take the dough out of the refrigerator, rub it on a coarse grater and distribute it evenly on the jam. After that, put the baking sheet in a preheated 220 degree oven for about 20-30 minutes. When the cookies are ready, we take them out of the oven, break them into pieces and serve them to the table.
