In order to enjoy delicious and fragrant tea from brewed linden flowers in the cold season, they must be properly prepared. Of course, you can buy linden flowers at the pharmacy, but most often such a linden color is less fragrant and sweet. The most important thing is that linden flowers should be collected in ecologically clean places, preferably away from big cities and major highways.

Weather also plays a big role. It is recommended to collect lime blossom on a warm day. It is desirable that there is no intense heat, on the contrary - there was partly cloudy and sufficient humidity. It is in this weather that the nectar in the flowers will be maximum. The time when most of the flowers are opened lasts about a week and a half. It is best to collect lime blossom during this period. The best time of day to collect is noon.

It is worth picking a lime blossom with your hands, and it is recommended to take exceptionally good flowers with adjacent leaves - without flaws, spots, darkening. After the linden flowers are collected, they will still need to be dried properly.

This is done in a well-ventilated room. A clean towel made of natural fabric is spread out on a horizontal surface, collected flowers are laid out on it. They are covered with gauze on top. The flowers need to be mixed a couple of times a day so that they dry out evenly, and the lower ones do not rot. In no case should the lime blossom be dried in direct sunlight. As a rule, linden flowers are dried for about 3 days.

By the way, if there is an electric dryer available, you can use it. The process will be simplified at times and will take much less time. You just need to remember that the temperature for drying lime color should not exceed 40 degrees Celsius. Otherwise, it may lose its healing properties.

Dried flowers are collected in a canvas bag. You might as well use a paper bag or an ordinary glass jar. If it is supposed to be stored in a glass jar, it is necessary to provide air access to the lime color. To do this, we do not close the jar with a lid, but tie it with a double layer of gauze.

The lime color is stored without losing its properties for a long time - two years. Of course, if everything is done correctly.

Have a cozy winter and good health!
