Muhammara is a mashed sauce that is extremely popular among Sephardi Jews, especially in Syria and Morocco. It is necessary to first bake the pepper in the oven, then peel it and cut it into small pieces. The bread also needs to be cut into small pieces and put the baked peppers and bread in a food processor or in a blender. Carefully chop the ingredients and prepare the dressing for the sauce: mix lemon juice, vinegar and sugar, and pour everything into a blender. Thoroughly whisk together with the bread mass, then pour in the nuts, cumin, garlic and salt. Whisk again, then pour out the oil, mix thoroughly again until a homogeneous smooth mass is obtained. Put it in a vase and serve as a sauce for any side dishes.
Mukhammara can also be used as a main dish, in this case it is better to serve it with sandwiches fried with a slice of beef ham and sprinkled with grated cheese.
