What should those who do not think to live a day without their favorite drink? This recipe presents a wonderful version of a coffee drink made of barley. This drink is a great alternative to coffee. Barley grains do not contain caffeine, so they are quite safe for health. On the contrary, they bring invaluable benefits to the body.

1. To make barley coffee, you need to choose large barley grains. They should be absolutely healthy, without any signs of damage.

2. Put the grains in a sieve, wash under running water. We put the clean grains on a paper towel and dry them.

3. Then we put the prepared barley on a cast-iron frying pan, send it to the fire. We try to fry the grains as evenly as possible. Stir during frying to avoid burning. If the grains are overcooked, the coffee will be bitter.

4. As soon as the barley acquires a beautiful brown color, remove the pan from the heat. We transfer the grains to a plate to stop the cooking process. If you leave the grains in a hot pan, they can overcook.

5. Put the cooled grains in a saucepan, pour boiling water. We send the saucepan to a low heat, cook coffee for ten minutes. Then remove the saucepan from the fire, cover with a lid. Let the coffee brew for about 5-10 minutes.

Then filter the coffee through a strainer, pour it into a cup, serve it on the table.
