Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 10 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

How to make ham sandwiches? Prepare the products for their preparation. Take the bread according to your taste. Absolutely anyone will do — white, loaf, rye, borodino, whole grain. You can also make such sandwiches with mini baguettes, ciabatta or panini buns. You can take a whole ham or a ready-made cut. I prefer slicing — the slices of ham are very thin and it looks beautiful.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Wash the cucumber, dry it and cut it into thin slices. It will take quite a few slices, so choose a small cucumber. Be sure to check it to see if it is bitter.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

Wash the tomato as well, dry it and cut it into thin rings. The thinner the slicing of vegetables and ham, the more convenient it will be to eat a sandwich, thick pieces will start to fall out when bitten.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Prepare the sauce. How to make sauce? Mix mayonnaise with mustard until smooth. Take sweet mustard, it will taste better. Although, if you like it sharper, then take the "Russian". Mayonnaise will suit anyone, again, start from your preferences. You can also use only mayonnaise as a sauce or only mustard. And add your favorite spices to the sauce — it will be delicious.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

Take a slice of bread and smear it with the resulting sauce.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

Lay tomato slices on the bread. Try not to find them on top of each other, put them in one layer.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

Next, lay out the cucumber slices. Also, let them lie flat, in one layer.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8.

Wash and dry the lettuce leaves. Put them on top of other vegetables. Any salad will do, I have a regular leaf salad, it will be delicious with arugula, frieze, watercress or iceberg. However, salad, like vegetables, you can add at will — exclude something or add, for example, radishes.

  9. Step 9:

    Step 9.

Put the ham slices on the salad. I have thin slices, I folded each slice in half.

  10. Step 10:

    Step 10.

Brush the ham with mayonnaise-mustard sauce. In principle, the sandwich is already ready, and it can be served on the table, but I prefer the closed version — it is neater and more convenient to eat.

  11. Step 11:

    Step 11.

Cover the sandwich with a piece of bread.

  12. Step 12:

    Step 12.

The ham sandwich is ready. Bon appetit!

Tomatoes choose juicy, but dense. Soft fruits do not keep their shape well, in the process of slicing and cooking they will spread into a shapeless mass and spoil the appearance of the dish.

The skin, if it is not rough, not damaged and not bitter, does not need to be cut off.

It is better to prepare mayonnaise yourself. It will be tastier and healthier. See here interesting recipes for homemade mayonnaise.
Also, as a dressing, you can use not only mayonnaise, but also sour cream or natural yogurt. They can be taken separately or mixed with mayonnaise in any proportion to your taste - this will reduce the calorie content of the dish.
