Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 1 h 30 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

Prepare the necessary ingredients. You will need a thin Armenian lavash. How to choose the right pita bread? First of all, look at the date of manufacture on the package. Do not take expired pastries. Fresh pita bread should have a pleasant smell. Take a good look so that there are no stains and signs of mold on it.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Wash fresh dill, dry it with paper towels and finely chop it.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

Peel the garlic and finely chop it with a knife or pass it through a press. In a small container, combine the crushed garlic with refined olive oil.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Spread out a sheet of thin Armenian lavash. Lubricate its surface evenly with garlic oil.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

Smear the entire surface of the pita bread with soft melted cheese.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

    Sprinkle chopped dill on top.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

How to choose the right ham? Check the composition for soy, starch and flavorings. Natural ham is made from pork. Other types of meat in the composition are undesirable. I advise you to buy ready-made slicing, so the slices will be the same size and thickness. Or cut it yourself into thin circles no more than 2-3 mm thick. If you cut the slices thicker, they will break when twisting. Spread them around the perimeter of the lavash, leaving a place on one edge.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8.

How to roll pita bread into a roll? Fold carefully and as tightly as possible so that the filling does not fall out at the edges, and the pita bread itself does not break. If the roll is not rolled tightly, then it will be difficult to cut it into beautiful pieces. Wrap it in plastic wrap and put it in the refrigerator for 1 hour. During this time, it will soak well and become soft.

  9. Step 9:

    Step 9.

Cut the finished roll into small portions. Beautifully put them on a plate, decorate with sprigs of fresh dill or curly parsley. The appetizer is ready.

Processed cheese can be replaced with finely grated hard cheese mixed with 2-3 tablespoons of mayonnaise or sour cream. In this case, garlic oil is not needed. Or take a processed cheese of the "Friendship" type. Put it in the freezer for 15-20 minutes, finely grate. Also mix with mayonnaise or sour cream and crushed garlic. I recommend cooking mayonnaise yourself, it will be more useful. Recipe options find it here

If you want, put slices of fresh cucumber or washed and well-dried lettuce leaves on the ham.

The snack can be placed on a plate covered with lettuce. You can decorate with rings of multicolored Bulgarian pepper, olives, lemon slices, gherkins.
