Cooking method

Cooking time: 1 h 15 min

Sift the flour into a deep bowl. This way we will rid it of lumps, random debris and saturate it with oxygen. Add powdered sugar, breadcrumbs, oat flakes, salt, vanilla sugar (can be replaced with vanilla) and baking powder to the flour. Do not neglect the use of breadcrumbs - thanks to them, the dough turns out more crumbly and crispy in the finished version. We combine all the ingredients with a fork or whisk until completely homogeneous.

Add vegetable oil to the dry mixture. We take only refined, odorless, so as not to feel its taste in the finished cake. Pour in the water. Knead a fairly dense dough first with a fork, and then with hands soaked in vegetable oil. As a result, kneading the dough turns out elastic and does not stick to your hands at all.

Divide the dough into two parts in a ratio of 2/3, wrap separately from each other in plastic wrap and send the larger one to the refrigerator for 30 minutes, and the smaller one to the freezer for the same time.

While the dough is cooling, let's do the filling. In a deep bowl, we combine chopped walnuts and boiled condensed milk (you can cook it yourself, but it's easier to buy ready-made). You can chop nuts using a food processor or using a rolling pin. In the second method, we put them in a bag, level it on the table and go through with a rolling pin several times, reaching the desired size of the pieces. Mix the filling until smooth.

The baking dish is lined with paper or lubricated with oil. A larger piece of dough is taken out of the refrigerator and rolled out in a thin layer so as to cover the bottom of the mold and slightly line the sides. We put the base into the mold, level it with our fingers and form the sides. In the middle we spread the whole filling of condensed milk and walnuts, level with a spatula. The edges of the pie are slightly turned into the middle so that they cover the filling a little, not allowing it to leak out.

Take out the second part of the dough from the freezer, and rub it on a coarse grater on top of the filling. Immediately, until the dough begins to melt, we send the pie to the oven (170 degrees) for 30-40 minutes. Bake until golden brown. We take the pie out of the oven immediately after baking, leave it to cool, and then decorate as desired.

Serve cold.

Bon appetit!
