Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 1 h
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

How to make potato chips? Prepare the products. You can take any greens you like or not at all. Instead of breadcrumbs, wheat flour can be used as breading, but then the effect of the crust will be slightly different. Crackers, by the way, are also completely different, the final taste of the finished dish will depend on their grinding and taste qualities. You can make them at home yourself, they will be even tastier.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Wash the potatoes thoroughly, peel them and put them in a saucepan. Fill it with clean cold water and put it on high heat. When the water boils, add salt, turn down the heat, cover the pan with a lid and cook the potatoes until soft, about 25 minutes. Check readiness with a sharp knife — it should easily pierce the tuber. When the potatoes are ready, drain the water and mash the potatoes with a potato masher. Leave the potato mass to cool.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

At this time, rinse the greens under running water, dry and finely chop. Pour wheat flour into the cooled mashed potatoes, add finely chopped greens and beat in a chicken egg. Be sure to wash the eggs before use, as even the seemingly clean shell may contain harmful bacteria. It is best to use food detergents and a brush. Mix all the ingredients very thoroughly until smooth.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Pour the breadcrumbs into the plate, place the pastry ring on top, pre-greasing its side walls with a small amount of vegetable oil. With the help of a pastry ring, the meatballs will turn out smooth and beautiful. Put the mashed potatoes with herbs inside the ring, tamp it down, then carefully remove the ring and sprinkle the cue ball on top with breadcrumbs. Or blind them in the usual way, with your hands, as you sculpt cutlets or cheesecakes.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

Pour vegetable oil into a frying pan and put it on medium heat. When the oil warms up, put the formed potato chips in a frying pan and fry them on both sides over medium heat until golden brown. The meatballs are very tender, so it's better to turn them over with a metal spatula.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

Serve the hot meatballs immediately on the table as a separate dish or as a side dish, adding them with a light vegetable salad. Bon appetit!

Use oil with a high smoking temperature for frying! Any oils are useful only until a certain temperature is reached - the point of smoking, at which the oil begins to burn and toxic substances, including carcinogens, are formed in it.
Unrefined oils, with rare exceptions, have a low smoking point. There are a lot of unfiltered organic particles in them, which quickly begin to burn.
Refined oils are more resistant to heating, and their smoking point is higher. If you are going to cook food in the oven, on a frying pan or grill, make sure that you use oil with a high smoking point. The most common of the oils with a high smoking point: refined varieties of sunflower, olive and grape.
