Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 30 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

How to make Kohlrabi Salad? Prepare the main products for the salad. Peel the carrots and onions. For salad, it is better to use shallots or white salad onions.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Put potatoes and eggs in a saucepan, pour cold water and put on high heat. After boiling, reduce the heat to medium and cook under a half-closed lid for about 15 minutes (until the potatoes are ready). After cooking, drain the water from the pan and leave the potatoes and eggs to cool.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

After the potatoes are completely cooled, peel them. Grate on a coarse grater and put the first layer in a serving salad ring. The recipe used a ring with a diameter of 16 cm. Add salt and brush with a small layer of mayonnaise.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Onions (Shallots were used in the recipe) cut in half and chop each half finely.Place the second layer over the potatoes in a serving ring.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

Peel and grate Kohlrabi on a coarse grater. Squeeze the excess juice with your hands (not much, otherwise the salad will turn out to be dry), then sprinkle with the juice of a freshly squeezed lemon and mix well. Put the cabbage in the next, third layer and add a little salt. Brush with a small amount of mayonnaise.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

Grate the carrots and lay out the fourth layer and smear with mayonnaise as well.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

Peel the apples and grate them on a coarse grater, immediately sprinkle with the juice of a freshly squeezed lemon and mix. This will not darken the apples and will look more appetizing in a salad. Squeeze away excess juice with your hands. Send the apples with the next layer and smear with mayonnaise.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8.

Peel the eggs. Grate two eggs on a coarse grater and evenly distribute the final layer in the salad.

  9. Step 9:

    Step 9.

Lightly add salt and again gently brush everything with a small amount of mayonnaise. Send the salad to the refrigerator for a while so that it is well soaked in mayonnaise and cooled.

  10. Step 10:

    Step 10.

Remove the serving ring before serving. Grate the remaining egg on a fine grater over the salad. Garnish with herbs if desired and serve to the table.

Take a portion of salad, mix it in your plate and enjoy an unusually delicious combination of Kohlrabi, carrots and apples.
Bon appetit!

It is better to prepare mayonnaise yourself. It will be tastier and healthier. See here interesting recipes for homemade mayonnaise.
Also, as a dressing, you can use not only mayonnaise, but also sour cream or natural yogurt. They can be taken separately or mixed with mayonnaise in any proportion to your taste - this will reduce the calorie content of the dish.

So that the mucous membrane of the eyes is not irritated when slicing onions, rinse the onion and knife with cold water. The cutting board will not absorb the unpleasant onion smell if you rub it with a piece of lemon before slicing.
