Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 17 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

How to bake apples with honey in the microwave entirely in the peel? To prepare the dessert, you will need only two ingredients: sweet and sour apples and honey. At the end, you can add cinnamon for flavor, but this is not necessary.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

So, ripe apples, without dents and scratches, wash under running water. The variety can be chosen to taste. For example, Simirenko, Pink Lady and even Granny Smith will be suitable. Choose a heat-resistant mold with high sides according to the size and number of apples, suitable for baking in a microwave oven. It is also important to see in advance whether the shape fits exactly into your microwave model.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

Next, I recommend trimming the bottom of the apple so that it stands vertically in the form.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Then turn the apple over and cut about half an inch from the side of the stack. This part will bake too, so don't throw it away.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

With a small sharp knife, cut out a shallow funnel in the center. It will be a place for honey.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

To prevent the apple peel from bursting during baking, use a toothpick to make several punctures around the perimeter of the apple peel in a chaotic manner. In the finished form, they will not be noticeable. Repeat steps 3-6 for the remaining apples and place them vertically in the previously prepared mold.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

In the middle of each apple, put a teaspoon with a mound of honey.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8.

Cover the apples with cut lids and put them to bake in the microwave for 15 minutes at 800 watts. You can cover the apples with a microwave lid, but then make sure that it will withstand a long baking time. Depending on the factory features of different microwave ovens, it may take a little more or a little less time. You need to focus on the appearance of apples (the peel should become wrinkled), and the pulp inside is soft.

During the cooking process, apples will release a lot of juice (this, of course, depends on the type of fruit), plus honey will melt. Therefore, the shape should be chosen not only heat-resistant, but also with a fairly high side. Mine has a side three centimeters high.
Be sure to try on the mold for your microwave oven in advance! Check whether it will rotate freely on a round glass stand so that you do not have to urgently look for new dishes.
My apples turned out to be perfectly sweet and sour, with a bright taste of honey and an unrealistically rich aroma of summer (although I cooked them in the spring). And the syrup, on the contrary, came out very sweet. I poured them on top of the apples. If desired, you can supplement the dessert with cinnamon right before serving.
You can serve such apples both hot and cold.
Bon appetit!
