Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 30 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

How to cook blueberry compote? Prepare the products. Blueberries can be taken both fresh and frozen. Even a small amount of berries will give a rich color and taste. Since the taste of blueberries is a little bland, I always add 2-3 slices of citrus to the compote. Or tangerine, or lemon, orange, whatever. Citrus fruits do not interrupt the taste and smell of blueberries, but successfully complement and enrich it.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Bring the required amount of water to a boil, add sugar, stir until it dissolves. It is better to take a stainless steel pan, it will not oxidize and it will be easier to wash it. Blueberry juice is a very strong dye and will leave blackness on the enamel, which is extremely difficult to wash.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

If the blueberries are fresh, then carefully sort and rinse them. I cooked from frozen berries, it is enough to rinse it under cold water without defrosting. Since they freeze it without washing it, but only sort it out from the litter.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Compote is cooked very quickly over intense heat. After the sugar, pour the blueberries, they will immediately color the water.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

Wash the tangerine or other citrus well, cut into slices without cleaning and throw it into the compote. You can add citric acid on the tip of a knife or leave one blueberry, it's a matter of taste. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat to a minimum, cover the compote with a lid and leave to boil for 5 minutes. Then remove from the stove and leave to infuse. I leave it to cool completely.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

Strain the cooled compote through a sieve or gauze, pour it into a glass container for storage in the refrigerator. Well-infused and cold compote will be much tastier than warm. Bon appetit!

Perhaps there is no such person who would not know that the first assistant for all eye diseases is blueberries.

Blueberries are healthy and delicious in any form, especially when used fresh.

In compote, it undergoes heat treatment and you don't have to wait for much benefit, but.. compote has a very positive effect on the digestive tract as a whole.

Instead of sugar, you can use a sweetener that is not afraid of heat treatment.

For cooking, it is better to use filtered or bottled water that is neutral to taste. If you use tap water, keep in mind that it can give the dish an unpleasant characteristic taste.
