Cherry plum jam with seeds for winter

Very tasty and beautiful cherry plum jam with seeds. Cherry plum is a fruit very similar in appearance and taste to a plum. The only thing is, unlike plums, it is very difficult to separate the stone from the pulp of the cherry plum, so housewives, as a rule, cook jam from cherry plum with stones. But such jam turns out to be even tastier, the cherry plum in it remains almost whole, and the jam has a transparent syrup. Cherry plum comes in different varieties and colors depending on the region of growth. Any cherry plum makes a very tasty jam. There are many ways to cook cherry plum jam. The best, of course, is fast, when the fruit is not subjected to heat treatment for a very long time, so more nutrients are stored in the finished product.

  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

Prepare the ingredients for the jam. These are cherry plum, sugar and water. Cherry plum can be used of any variety according to availability, place of purchase and preference, yellow or red, most importantly, well ripe and sweet.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

We sort out the cherry plum, remove the damaged and rotten berries, garbage. Fruits are washed under running water and thrown into a colander so that the water runs off. Pour water into a saucepan, bring it to a boil. We lower a colander with cherry plum into this water (it is better to use a metal or silicone refractory colander for these purposes, a plastic one may start to melt). Keep the fruit in boiling water for about 5 minutes and take it out.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

Then we pierce the cherry plum (each one) with a toothpick so that it does not burst when pouring syrup, if you want the fruit in the jam to remain intact. But even if they fall apart during the preparation of jam, the taste of jam will not spoil from this, the only thing that will change the appearance of jam. It will even be more convenient to extract the bones when the jam is eaten.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Prepare sugar syrup. Pour water into a saucepan, put a measured amount of sugar. Bring the water to a boil, stirring with a spoon so that the sugar completely dissolves. Turn off the fire.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

We transfer the cherry plum to a metal container that does not oxidize from fruit juice, pour syrup and leave at room temperature for 3 hours. Then put on fire, bring to a boil and cook for about 30 minutes over medium heat.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

Lay out the jam in pre-prepared sterilized jars, roll up. Let the jam cool down and put it away for storage in the pantry for the winter.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

Or serve immediately to the table with tea. Bon appetit!
