French fries in the oven

Crispy, appetizing, for dinner for the whole family! French fries in the oven turn out to be no worse than deep-fried. The same ruddy, crisp, soft inside. But at the same time it is much more useful, because a very small amount of oil is used during cooking.

Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 1 h
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

How to bake French fries in the oven? Prepare the products. Choose the tubers of the same size, then the potatoes will turn out more beautiful and evenly fried. Choose refined oil with a high smoking temperature, since potatoes will be baked at high degrees. I didn't add any spices except salt. You can flavor the potatoes with your favorites.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Wash and peel the potatoes properly. Dry the tubers thoroughly with paper towels. Excess moisture will prevent the formation of a ruddy crust.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

Cut the potatoes into cubes. I recommend doing this along the tuber so that the pieces are long, like the purchased French fries. Try to make the bars the same thickness.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Put the sliced potatoes in a bag. Pour vegetable oil into it. Shake the bag properly so that the oil envelops each piece. You can not use a bag, but do it in a bowl, but with a bag you get less dirty dishes. Important!!! Do not add salt until the very end of baking! Salt will prevent the formation of a crispy crust!!!

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

Take a baking sheet, cover it with parchment paper. Put the potatoes from the bag on it. Spread the pieces evenly on the baking sheet, trying to keep them in one layer. So the potatoes will fry more evenly.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

Preheat the oven to 230°C, top-bottom mode. Put a baking tray with potatoes in it on the middle level. Bake the potatoes for 35 to 45 minutes. Keep an eye on her condition — the potatoes should be browned, but not burned. Mine was baked for 40 minutes. Pay attention to how my thin slices are very fried — so the slicing should be the same.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

Remove the potatoes from the oven. And just now, salt it and season it with spices, if you use them. Stir the potatoes with a spatula. Serve the French fries immediately after cooking, while they are crispy. Bon appetit!

I strongly doubted that it would turn out to be French fries, I thought the usual baked potatoes would come out. I was wrong! It turned out to be exactly the same potato that children and adults love. Crispy, golden, appetizing! Very tasty!

Root vegetables are best washed with a brush or a hard sponge under running water.

Use oil with a high smoking temperature for frying! Any oils are useful only until a certain temperature is reached - the point of smoking, at which the oil begins to burn and toxic substances, including carcinogens, are formed in it.
Unrefined oils, with rare exceptions, have a low smoking point. There are a lot of unfiltered organic particles in them, which quickly begin to burn.
Refined oils are more resistant to heating, and their smoking point is higher. If you are going to cook food in the oven, on a frying pan or grill, make sure that you use oil with a high smoking point. The most common of the oils with a high smoking point: refined varieties of sunflower, olive and grape.

Keep in mind that everyone's ovens are different. The temperature and cooking time may differ from those specified in the recipe. To make any baked dish successful, use useful information about the features of ovens !
