Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 20 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

How to make a classic caesar salad with shrimp? First of all, prepare all the necessary ingredients according to the list. It is better to take tiger or royal shrimp for salad, but it will turn out no less tasty with ordinary ones. Which lettuce leaves are better to use? In the classic recipe, Romano is used, you can take Lettuce, Endive, Iceberg or Peking cabbage. Rinse tomatoes, lemon and leaves in clean water, dry with napkins.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Remove the shrimp from the freezer and defrost at room temperature. For faster defrosting, you can pour the shrimp with cool water. Remove the shells and heads from the mollusks, the tails can be left, or also removed - at your discretion.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

Further, there are two methods of heat treatment of shrimp. They can be boiled in boiling water until tender or marinated and fried in a frying pan. I cook more often in the second way, so the taste of the salad, as it seems to me, turns out to be more saturated. So, in a deep small cup, send the shrimp, add 1 tbsp.l. lemon juice, 2 tbsp.l. vegetable or olive oil and a pinch of salt. If you have Worcestershire sauce, then add it too. Leave for 10 minutes.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Fry the shrimp in a hot pan for a couple of minutes on one side.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

And the same amount from the other.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

Cut the crusts from the white bread (you can use a loaf). Cut the bread into small 1-2 cm cubes. Fry in a small amount of olive oil or vegetable oil. If desired, you can add a little garlic, so the crackers will turn out fragrant.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

Put the breadcrumbs on a baking sheet and send them to a preheated oven for 5-10 minutes to dry.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8.

Fill the eggs with cold water and put them on the stove. After boiling, reduce the flame slightly and cook the eggs for one minute. They should turn out soft-boiled. We will only need the yolks to prepare the dressing.

  9. Step 9:

    Step 9.

Prepare the sauce. To do this, put two yolks, mustard, 2 tablespoons of lemon juice, balsamic vinegar, 4 tablespoons of olive or vegetable oil, garlic, salt, sugar and ground black pepper in the blender bowl.

  10. Step 10:

    Step 10.

    Whisk everything until smooth.

  11. Step 11:

    Step 11.

It remains to collect the salad. Pick the sheets with your hands at random, send them to a flat plate with the first layer.

  12. Step 12:

    Step 12.

Next comes the turn of crackers and cherry tomatoes. Tomatoes can be cut in half or in quarters.

  13. Step 13:

    Step 13.

Lay out the next layer of shrimp.

  14. Step 14:

    Step 14.

Pour the sauce evenly over the salad.

  15. Step 15:

    Step 15.

And add the cheese grated on a fine grater.

  16. Step 16:

    Step 16.

If desired, sprinkle crackers on top and garnish with herbs. Caesar is ready, serve immediately!

  17. Step 17:

    Step 17.

Lightly mix the salad in your plate and enjoy the amazing taste!

If you plan to serve the salad not immediately after cooking, but after some time, then it is better to make the layer with crackers final, so they will not get wet and remain crispy, and even better add them to the plate just before the by submission.

Bon appetit!
