Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 3 h
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

How to make tandoor tortillas in the oven? Take a deep bowl, as it will be necessary to knead a sufficiently large volume and amount of ingredients in it. Sift flour into it and add salt. Stir so that the salt is evenly distributed throughout the flour.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Pour the dry yeast into warm water and mix well, for about a minute, so that they are well soaked and dispersed in the water. This way it will be easier to distribute them evenly throughout the test. Pour the resulting mass into a container with flour and start mixing it with a spoon. Then continue to knead the dough with your hands.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

When the dough begins to gather in a lump, pour in vegetable oil. It will give elasticity to the dough. Continue kneading the dough. It will take another 10-15 minutes. For convenience, it can be laid out from the container on the work surface. After an incident of 15 minutes, put the dough in a bowl, cover it with cling film and leave for 10 minutes.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Tortillas can be made both large and small. And it's better if they are the same, so divide the dough into equal parts using weights (for accuracy). The weight of my tortillas is 160 grams each. Round the blanks by rolling them into balls. Remove them under the film and leave for 40-60 minutes in a warm place to rise.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

Lubricate the work surface with a small amount of vegetable oil. Take one piece of dough, put it on the surface and with your hands, from the middle to the edge, form a tortilla, while leaving a side along its entire perimeter. In the center of the cake, make a pattern with a special stamp. But if there is none, take an ordinary fork or hammer for beating meat and make a simpler decoration. Make cakes from all the blanks.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

Put the finished blanks on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper. Beat the egg in a separate container and smear the resulting tortillas with it. Sprinkle the center of the tortillas with sesame seeds. Next, put the baking sheet with tortillas on the proofing. To do this, put them in the oven with the lamp on (without heating) for 15 minutes.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

Then preheat the oven to 220 °C. At this time, once again in the center of the tortillas, walk with a hammer or fork so that the pattern is clearer and the center will turn out more crispy. Bake the tortillas until golden brown (20 minutes). Since all ovens work differently, the time may vary. Put the finished tortillas on the grill.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8.

Serve to the table. Enjoy your meal!
