Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 1 h 20 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

How to bake a lean aspic pie? Prepare all the necessary ingredients according to the recipe. Take flour of the highest grade, vegetable oil - any refined. Cabbage is suitable for white cabbage, onions - medium or large. Take 350-400 grams of cabbage, as unsuitable parts will be cut off (flaccid and hard leaves, a stalk), the total weight will become less.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

To knead the dough, take a deep bowl in which it is convenient to mix dry and liquid ingredients. To sift out small debris, saturate the flour with oxygen and the dough turned out to be airy, sift the flour. Place a large half of the flour in a bowl. Add salt and stir.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

Before using yeast, read the instructions for them. There are different types of yeast - some must be activated by first dissolving in warm water or milk, and some can be immediately added to flour. The ones that need to be activated will suit us. In warm water (37-40°C) add sugar and yeast. Stir and leave for 10 minutes. If a fluffy cap appears on the surface, then the yeast has been activated and you can continue cooking.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Pour the yeast and vegetable oil diluted in water into the flour. Add the liquid part to the dry part, and not vice versa, so that the dough turns out to be successful. Add flour in small portions. The dough should turn out like thick sour cream. Cover the bowl with the dough with a towel so that it rises well. Leave in a warm place for about 30-40 minutes. Important! Flour may need more or less. Focus on the desired consistency of the dough

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

While the dough is rising, prepare the filling. Remove the flaccid leaves from the cabbage, cut off the stalk and the hard stems of the leaf. Rinse it with water and finely chop it. Peel the onion, rinse and chop it into small cubes with a knife. This cutting will make the filling more uniform. Turn on the oven to preheat to 180 degrees.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

To prepare the filling, take a frying pan with a diameter of at least 24 cm to fit cabbage and onions. Heat a frying pan with vegetable oil over medium heat. Fry the onion first. Stir until the onion is evenly fried.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

After 2-3 minutes, when the onion becomes softer and begins to turn golden, transfer the chopped cabbage to it, stir and simmer for about 10 minutes, until the cabbage becomes a little softer and the filling becomes more uniform. Season with salt and pepper and add sugar. Mix thoroughly and simmer for another 5 minutes under the lid over low heat. The cooking time of cabbage may become shorter if the cabbage is fresh, if it is winter - longer. Prepare the finished filling completely.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8.

For the number of ingredients specified in the recipe, take a small baking dish. I have 12x25 cm. If the mold is silicone, it does not need to be lubricated, from another material, lubricate the bottom and sides with oil. Pour half of the dough into a mold and spread evenly over the bottom with a spatula or spoon.

  9. Step 9:

    Step 9.

Put the filling on top, leaving about 1 cm without filling at the edges. So the filling will remain inside the pie.

  10. Step 10:

    Step 10.

Pour the remaining dough on top and spread evenly. Bake for 30-35 minutes on the middle shelf in a preheated oven on the "top-bottom" mode. The cooking time may vary depending on the capabilities of your oven. The finished cake will increase in volume and turn red. Pierce it with a wooden toothpick or skewer. If the dough doesn't stick to it, then the pie is ready.

Ready-made pie is good to serve warm or cold for tea. Fans of cabbage filling will be delighted with this pie.
