Potatoes with chicken layers in the oven

A great dish for a family dinner! Main and side dish together! Potato casserole with chicken meat, cooked in the oven, turns out juicy and tender. Baking reduces the time spent in the kitchen and makes the dish quite light and dietary. The taste can be varied with spices, adding vegetables.

Chicken fillet is cleaned from films and skin, washed with running water and dried with paper towels. By the way, exactly the same dish can be prepared from turkey fillet.

Cut the meat into small cubes, put it in a deep bowl. Add the seasoning for chicken, oregano, mix, preferably with your hands, to rub each piece with spices. Leave the meat to infuse for 15 minutes.

While the chicken is soaked in the aroma of spices, peel and wash the potatoes. We cut it with plates about 3 mm wide.

Onions and carrots are cleaned, washed with running water, dried. Carrots are best grated on a coarse grater, and onions are cut into small pieces.

Pour vegetable oil into a frying pan with a thick bottom, heat it over high heat. Put the onion in the pan, fry until transparent and add the meat soaked in spices. Fry the chicken until white, stirring constantly so that it does not burn.

As soon as the meat is fried, add grated carrots to the pan, mix, pour in the wine. Bring to a boil, reduce the intensity of the flame to a minimum and boil until reduced in volume. Season with salt and ground pepper to taste.

The form in which we will cook the casserole, lubricate with a small amount of vegetable oil. Smoked bacon is cut into thin strips. You can take bacon or just bacon with a slot.

Spread the bacon pieces on the bottom of the mold, spread the potatoes on top in an even layer. On top of the potatoes, we distribute fried chicken fillet with vegetables. Cover the meat filling with the remaining potatoes.

Cut the mozzarella into small pieces, spread over the top layer of potatoes. Sprinkle with a small amount of pepper, salt and oregano. We send the casserole into the oven for an hour. The chicken was ready even during roasting, so the readiness of the dish is determined by the condition of the potatoes.

If desired, we decorate the finished dish with herbs and spices, for example, you can sprinkle it with freshly ground black pepper.
