Cooking time: 50 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

To prepare potato pancakes with cheese, you will need raw potatoes (the weight is indicated in peeled form), hard cheese, onions, fatty sour cream, wheat flour, salt and ground black pepper.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Potatoes must be grated. If you rub on a large one, then the draniki will turn out to be more relief and voluminous, if the potatoes are grated on a fine grater, then the finished dish will be more homogeneous and tender. In this case, the potatoes are grated on a coarse grater. Immediately after chopping the potatoes, add sour cream. Thus, it will not darken so much in the future.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

Onions need to be peeled and cut as small as possible. Alternatively, the onion can also be grated on a fine grater or crushed into a pulp using a blender.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Grate the hard cheese on a fine grater and add it to the total mass. We also put wheat flour, salt, ground black pepper and mix the potato-cheese mass very thoroughly until it is as homogeneous as possible.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

You can do this with a tablespoon, but it is more effective to mix with your hands. So the potato mass will be just perfectly mixed with flour, salt and cheese.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

The potato-cheese mass is ready! Now it remains only to fry the draniki. To do this, heat the vegetable oil well in a frying pan, put the mass into the hot oil with a spoon and level it a little on top, forming flat draniki. Fry the draniki for 2-3 minutes on each side until a beautiful ruddy color.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

Ready-made potato pancakes with cheese in hot form with any sauce or gravy.

You can complement the taste range of potato pancakes with cheese by adding spices to taste, for example, Italian herbs, ground paprika. You can also add any clean and finely chopped greens to the potato-cheese mass.
