Chicken Kaccatore in a slow cooker

Stunningly delicious chicken thighs in Italian. One of my husband's favorite dishes. I cook this dish in a large slow cooker ... We eat half for dinner, and the other half I cool and freeze. In a couple of weeks I will defrost and free myself from cooking. And I will spend this time with my beloved family.

Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 3 h
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

Spread chicken thighs on a hot frying pan and sprinkle with ground black pepper and universal seasoning to taste. I don't use salt because the universal seasoning already has salt in its composition.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Fry on both sides in butter until golden brown.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

We put the fried thighs in a slow cooker.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

In the same pan where the chicken thighs were fried, pour the chopped Onion and fry until golden brown.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

After the onion is fried, add chopped garlic to it and pour Worcestershire sauce almost immediately. Mix everything for 1-2 minutes and remove from heat.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

Pour the contents of the pan (onion + garlic+ sauce) onto the chicken.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

Then chop the pepper, broccoli, carrots and also move them to the slow cooker.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8.

Next, lay out the tomatoes and pour tomato paste. You can use fresh tomatoes and tomatoes preserved in their own juice. Ketchup can also be used instead of tomato paste. If we use previously salted tomatoes or ketchup, there is no need to salt. If the tomatoes are fresh and tomato paste, then you need to add salt to taste.

  9. Step 9:

    Step 9.

Turn on the slow cooker at 180 degrees Celsius. And we leave it to cook for 2.5 hours. Then add oregano and leave for another 30 minutes.

  10. Step 10:

    Step 10.

To garnish with chicken Kaccatore, it is good to cook pasta, baked potatoes or mashed potatoes.

Chicken cacciatore (Chicken cacciatore) this is an incredibly delicious Italian dish!
For the first time my husband asked me to do it. (I hadn't heard anything about this dish before).. At that time, I did not find any version of this dish in Russian. I had to do the translation, which you can't do for your beloved husband))
After I first cooked chicken thighs according to this recipe, our whole family is just in love with it!
You can cook any pasta, potatoes in any form, porridge for a side dish with chicken Kaccatore... especially buckwheat.
