Smorrebrod Danish Sandwich

Sandwiches with fish fillet and vegetables - delicious, light and healthy! It's no secret that the cuisine of the harsh peoples living on the shores of the Baltic, enjoying the warmth of the Gulf Stream, is as harsh as the locals and the local nature. Its basis is fish. Everything is made from fish: the first, the second and, of course, sandwiches – smorrebrod, or smerrebrol, the variations of which are simply inexhaustible. At the same time, Danish smorrebrods are known for the fact that sometimes their multi-storey structure must be eaten in parts, using cutlery.

Grease a slice of rye bread with a thin layer of butter. You can also use white bread (necessarily toasted in a toaster), but rye will still add flavor to this appetizing pyramid. Next, put a slice of any red fish (or herring, smoked ham, ham or tongue) in layers. By the way, in our family it is not forbidden to make different sandwiches, and not the same for everyone, so as not to offend anyone. In my opinion, in this case it will not be possible to offend anyone even with a strong desire, so all the smorrebrods turn out delicious and appetizing. We are more fond of meat sandwiches that are close to Russian cuisine. All meat should be cut into thin slices, then the sandwich will melt in your mouth. At the same time, it will not be dry in any case, because any sandwich has a sauce or mayonnaise cap. So, on top of meat or fish, you can put grated or sliced cheese in mayonnaise, lettuce leaves, a slice of tomato without skin, pitted olives, sliced leeks, fresh or pickled cucumbers and even peeled shrimp. If a slice of bread is large enough, then in order to enrich it with taste, you can put any pate on one half, vegetables on the other. Next, pour the sauce. If you use sauce, then you can fantasize as much as you want. Suitable sauce, based on mustard, sour cream or mayonnaise, with mushrooms, celery, pepper, etc.
