Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 25 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

I had a frozen squid, so I let it unfreeze.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

And she put the water to boil and started preparing other ingredients. I peeled the garlic and chopped it into thin slices. They will give a piquant taste, and, hard-fried, they will please with color.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

Then I peeled the onion, washed it, dried it and cut it into rings. So everything will look harmonious. After all, I did not take white onions, which in a dish will merge in color with squid, but Crimean.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

My water has already boiled. And I sprinkled boiling water all over the squid. Everything that covered him instantly gathered some small pimples, which perfectly lagged behind as soon as they were touched with a knife.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

After cutting off the tail part of the carcass, I cleaned the insides - everything inside should be clean.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

Then you need to rinse it very carefully, because there are enough impurities inside the squid. When the carcass was ready, I cut it into rings about 0.5 cm wide .

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

To make the dish have a more piquant taste, I seasoned the rings with a mixture of peppers and spices.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8.

While the squid is marinating, put the pan on gas and pour oil. When it is over, let's fry the onion in boiling oil. It will take about 3 minutes, because I cut thinly.

  9. Step 9:

    Step 9.

I had a lot of space in the pan, so I fried garlic in parallel, chopped with thin petals.

  10. Step 10:

    Step 10.

Now fry the squid side by side, lightly panicking them (or sprinkling them right in the pan with onions) in breadcrumbs (or flour).

  11. Step 11:

    Step 11.

Fry for 3-4 minutes, no more, because we have already doused the squid with boiling water. If you want to get a crispy effect, fry until crisp.

  12. Step 12:

    Step 12.

At the end, when I had already turned off the gas, I did not cover it all with a lid, as I could have done. It turned out delicious, tender and at the same time a little fried.

And more tips

Do not keep squid in boiling water for a long time – quickly dip them and immediately start cleaning. It is better to sprinkle boiling water again later.

You can also cut the tail part, without forgetting to process it in the same way.

If you want a crispy crust, fry the squid together with onions in one pan, but pre-pan them in flour or breadcrumbs.

Do not overdo the squid on the fire, otherwise they will resemble onions in batter.

Take bigger carcasses for frying.

Try to choose the freshest specimens and without damage.

When frying, place the squid rings so that they do not touch. If there are a lot of products, fry in several steps.

You can pour them with melted butter before serving.

Before serving, you can add a piece of butter.
