Fried green tomatoes in semolina in American style

An original snack in an American way! If you have read the famous novel by Fanny Flagg called "Fried green tomatoes in the cafe "Polustanok", then you should be interested in this culinary recipe. I will not say that the recipe in it is a repetition of the book, but the food does not become less tasty from this. It belongs to American cuisine, is prepared extremely quickly and is an excellent side dish for fish, meat dishes, as well as poultry dishes.

Take semolina, mix it with ground black pepper, salt and crushed garlic. Tomatoes are cut into circles, not too thin, however. Each slice is rolled in the prepared mixture on both sides, and then fried in a frying pan in vegetable oil. Tomatoes should have an appetizing ruddy crust. They crunch on your teeth in an interesting way and perfectly set off the taste of such products as: boiled potatoes, fried eggs, millet porridge and so on. In general, fried tomatoes can be used both as a snack and as a side dish. For example, they are great for beer and stronger alcoholic beverages, such as vodka.
