Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 1 h 30 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

Prepare simple products. The number of tomatoes, onions and carrots is at your discretion - but believe me, they will not be superfluous. I have a small onion, so a whole plate.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

First of all, we will clean and carve the fish. If you have freshly frozen mackerel, let it thaw overnight in the refrigerator. Cut off the head and tail, cut the abdomen lengthwise and take out all the insides. Rinse well with water so that there are no black films left. We soak the fish with paper towels.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

Cut into portions. I get 4 pieces from one fish. I have only 2 pieces of mackerel, it turned out 8 portions.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Now let's do the onion. Cut into thin half rings. The number of onions is at your discretion, but it will not be superfluous.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

Peel the carrot and grate it on a coarse grater. The quantity is also to your taste.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

Wash tomatoes, trim tails and cut into small cubes.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

Now we are putting together a dish for cooking. In the bowl of the slow cooker we put half the volume of onions and carrots. Add salt and pepper to taste and mix everything a little with a spoon and a pen.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8.

Then add half the volume of chopped tomatoes to the vegetables.

  9. Step 9:

    Step 9.

Then we put pieces of mackerel on our vegetable pillow. 2 butchered mackerels fit well in one row in a slow cooker. Add salt and pepper to taste.

  10. Step 10:

    Step 10.

We also put onions, carrots and tomatoes on top of the fish. Don't forget about spices (salt and pepper). We put a bay leaf on top and that's it. We do not add either water or oil to this dish - mackerel is cooked in its own and in vegetable juice. Therefore, this dish can rightfully be considered superdietic! We put the bowl in a slow cooker, close the lid, set the program "quenching" for 1 hour.

  11. Step 11:

    Step 11.

    When the slow cooker "squeaks" and informs that the program is over, open the lid, take out the bay leaf, we no longer need it, and gently press the fish into the vegetables with a spatula, so that it sinks even better there, close the lid and put the dish for 15 minutes in the "heating" mode;

  12. Step 12:

    Step 12.

Here is our fragrant delicious mackerel ready! Serve on a vegetable pillow. The vegetables will be soft and very tasty!

  13. Step 13:

    Step 13.

Fish is delicious both hot and cold. When serving, sprinkle with fresh herbs.

  14. Step 14:

    Step 14.

Cook for health and bon appetit!

We cook fish absolutely without oil and even without water! Therefore, this dish can be safely included in the diet of people who are on a diet.
