Cooking method

Cooking time: 20 min

According to this recipe, you can not just cook a quick delicious breakfast, but also use bread that has been lying around for a couple of days. Fresh bread may crumble during cooking and, in order to preserve its integrity, you need to cook with great care.

We take ready-made toast bread in slices, or cut into thin slices from the whole "brick". In half of the slices of bread we make a round hole: it is best to use a glass or cup for squeezing.

We spread whole slices of bread, slices with a hole on top of them. This will be the basis for the future toast - a tender and batter-soaked form for scrambled eggs.

We leave the bread for a while and prepare the egg mixture. In a deep bowl, mix 2 eggs and milk. Add a small amount of salt, ground pepper and whisk with a fork until smooth.

The baking dish is lined with a silicone mat or baking paper. If the paper is not oiled, we additionally lubricate it with vegetable oil using a silicone brush.

We dip the connected slices of bread in the milk-egg mixture, hold it tightly so that the bread does not shift, then the finished croutons will turn out smooth and beautiful. Soaked from all sides, the pieces are spread on a baking sheet with the hole facing up. Press down a little from above so that the halves fit snugly together.

We break the egg into a separate cup, we need to work very carefully so that the yolk remains intact. Pour the egg into the middle of the toast, repeat the procedure with the rest. Grate the cheese on a fine grater and sprinkle it on each toast, trying not to get on the yolk.

We send the prepared croutons to a preheated 180 degree oven for 8-10 minutes. When the cheese has melted and the egg is baked, you can get it. We add parsley and serve it to the table hot.

Bon appetit!
