Qubit chicken pie

Rich juicy pie with chicken, potatoes and onions. Kubite (Kobete, kubete) is a puff pastry pie with meat filling. The word "cob ite" - translated from Turkic means "a lot of meat". Mostly such a pie is made from mutton, but I suggest making a pie less time-consuming - from ready-made puff pastry with chicken. The pie is sooo satisfying, with a chic filling and a crispy crust of dough. Perfect for a family dinner/lunch or for a festive table.

Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 1 h 20 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

    Prepare the necessary ingredients: - puff pastry - I have a package of two layers - get to defrost; - potatoes - medium 6 potatoes; - onion - 3 medium onions; - breast fillet; - butter;

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Peel the potatoes and cut them into thin rings.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

Peel the onion and cut into half rings.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Wash the breast fillet and cut it into small plates, but not too finely. Put it in a bowl and mix with salt and pepper.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

Grease the form in which you will cook. I chose a 20x20 ceramic square shape with high sides (5 cm). There will be a lot of fillings, so either choose a large low form, or a small, but high one.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

Roll out one layer of puff pastry according to the size of the mold, having a few centimeters in stock for bending. Put the first layer of dough into the mold.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

Put part of the chopped onion on the dough in one layer.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8.

Put the chopped potatoes on top of the onion, season with salt and pepper.

  9. Step 9:

    Step 9.

Next comes a layer of onions, a layer of potatoes, again do not forget to add salt and pepper.

  10. Step 10:

    Step 10.

The next step is to put the remaining onion, chopped chicken breast fillet again.

  11. Step 11:

    Step 11.

Spread butter evenly over the breast. Thanks to the oil, the meat will be juicy and fragrant.

  12. Step 12:

    Step 12.

Take the second layer of dough and cover the pie with it, pinch the edges.

  13. Step 13:

    Step 13.

Beat the egg lightly and grease the cake evenly with a cooking brush.

  14. Step 14:

    Step 14.

Use a fork to make pricks over the entire area of the pie to release steam. Put the cubes in a preheated 180 gr. oven for 50- 60 minutes. If the top will burn - cover it with foil.

  15. Step 15:

    Step 15.

Serve the finished cake hot or warm.
