Chicken tortillas

Homemade tortillas with stuffing - very simple and satisfying! Tortillas with chicken are simple pastries, which can be an alternative to bread for lunch, and a hearty breakfast, and a convenient snack. The dough for tortillas is prepared very simply - on soda and kefir, has a pleasant cheese taste. And cakes are baked in the oven. Unlike tortillas fried in oil in a frying pan, in my opinion, a more lush and light baking is obtained in the oven. The chicken filling makes the dish satisfying, dill gives flavor. Serve tortillas with chicken hot.

Cooking method

Kefir is taken out of the refrigerator in advance, it should be at room temperature.
First prepare the chicken for the filling. Lower the fillets into boiling salted water, boil over medium heat until tender. Take it out and let it cool down. Optionally, you can take any part of the chicken.
Making dough for tortillas. Grate the hard cheese on a coarse grater. Quench the soda with 1 tablespoon of kefir, mix and leave for 2 minutes. Pour the rest of the kefir into a convenient bowl for kneading dough. Add salt, sugar, slaked soda and mix. Pour out the grated cheese, mix. We sift the flour well. Pour a glass of flour into the dough immediately, mix with a spoon. Add the rest of the flour gradually. Knead a soft, pliable, slightly sticky dough. It is important not to pour flour so that the dough does not turn out stiff. Cover the dough with a towel so that it does not get wet, and leave it on the table to "rest" for 30 minutes.
Meanwhile, we are preparing the filling. Cut the cooled chicken into small cubes. Dill is washed, dried, finely chopped. Combine the chicken with the greens and mix. For lovers of spicy taste, you can add ground black pepper or garlic passed through a press.
Roll out the rested dough into a sausage, divide it into equal pieces, the size of which depends on the desired size of the tortillas. Each part is rolled out on a table powdered with flour into a round cake with a thickness of at least 0.7-0.9 cm. It should not be rolled out too thinly, so that the dough does not break during the subsequent formation of cakes. We put the filling in the middle, lift the edges of the tortilla and put it in a bag, blind it. Then very carefully roll out the tortilla again. The thickness of the cake is not less than 1 cm. We do the same with all the pieces of dough.
Put the tortillas on a greased baking sheet. Grease the top with beaten egg yolk and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
Bake the tortillas in a preheated 180 degree oven for about 20 minutes. As soon as the baking is covered with a uniform blush, we take it out.
Serve the tortillas hot.
Bon appetit!
