Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 2 h 30 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

Prepare all our ingredients. A few words about spices: I used paprika, coriander, rosemary and basil. You can also take your favorite herbs and spices.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Cut the meat into medium-sized cubes.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

Cut the onion into thin half rings.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

    Carrots - small cubes.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

Prunes are thoroughly washed and cut into halves.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

We set the frying mode on the slow cooker. Pour vegetable oil into the bowl and gradually spread the meat into it, frying it until a golden crust appears.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

Remove the fried meat from the bowl, and send the onion in its place. Fry it until soft.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8.

Add carrots to the onion and continue frying on the same mode for another 5-7 minutes.

  9. Step 9:

    Step 9.

Return the meat to the bowl of the slow cooker. We also add sour cream, spices, bay leaf, salt and ground black pepper.

  10. Step 10:

    Step 10.

Fill the contents of the bowl with water to such a level that it covers meat with vegetables and spices by a centimeter. Mix everything well. Simmer with the lid closed for 75-90 minutes in the "Quenching" mode.

  11. Step 11:

    Step 11.

Then add prunes to the bowl and simmer in the same mode for another half hour. If you see that there is still a lot of water in the bowl at this point, you can switch to the "Frying" mode and control the process of evaporation of the liquid until the meat is ready. Serve ready-made beef with prunes with your favorite side dish - for example, with tender mashed potatoes. Bon appetit!
