Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 21 d
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

    Prepare the products. Freeze fresh cranberries in advance. The fact is that freezing loosens the structure of the fruit, so the juice separates much better. That is why berries should be frozen before preparing any tinctures. Cranberries even have to be kept in the freezer for more than 24 hours — so it will become less bitter.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

    Sort the berries without defrosting, rinse with cool water in a colander, let the water drain well.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

    Then peel the cranberries, but not too much so that the berries remain whole. The disadvantage of chopping berries is that the finished tincture turns out to be very cloudy and requires several stages of filtration. And so the drink will turn out more transparent. You can get it in a jar right away, but it's more convenient for me in a wide container, at the same time I check the quality of the berries again.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

    It is convenient to take a liter jar. Pour vodka into the crushed cranberries. Close the jar with a lid, put it in a dark, warm place for 3 weeks. Shake every 2-3 days. You will get a cranberry tincture without sugar, which has a sour taste. You can finish cooking on this, but if the sourness in the taste does not suit,

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

    There is AN OPTION-2. Add sugar /or liquid honey/. I add sugar after vodka. / This option is more suitable for ladies or for medicinal purposes /.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

    I close, shake and leave to infuse also for 3 weeks in a dark, warm place. Shake every 2-3 days.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

    After 3 weeks, filter the tincture through 4 layers of gauze and a cotton filter. Squeeze the cake well. You can filter twice for the best result.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8.

    Pour the filtered tincture into a bottle and cool.

You need to store the drink in the refrigerator. The resulting cranberry tincture should be given time to infuse and the longer the better. Every day its taste will become more saturated, whole, bright cranberry tones will appear. The tincture itself turns out to be a very beautiful, delicate crimson color. You should drink the drink carefully – the degree is not felt at all, but you can "get drunk" quickly!

Drinks cooked on cranberries increase immunity, prevent colds, stimulate the digestive tract, improve metabolic processes. Cranberry tincture preserves the beneficial properties of berries, alcohol acts only as a preservative. In the absence of contraindications, a moderate intake of a delicious drink serves as a prevention of a number of diseases.

For therapeutic and prophylactic purposes, the drug is taken in small doses. If you are prone to hypertension, dilute the drink with boiled water, since alcohol in the infusion increases the pressure. In folk medicine, "cranberry" is used in the following cases:

prevention of gastritis, gastric ulcer (15 ml three times a day before meals);
strengthening of the cardiovascular system, recovery after a heart attack (30-50 ml per day);
improved appetite (30 ml 30 minutes before meals);
removal of inflammation, relief of coughing attacks with bronchitis (50 ml per day);
increased immunity (daily 30-50 ml);
prevention of pressure surges (15 ml before meals).

Since alcohol is incompatible with a number of medications, coordinate the intake of the medicinal product with your doctor.

The restrictions for admission are:

gastritis with high acidity, stomach ulcer and duodenal ulcer;
pathology of the liver and kidneys;
diseases of the digestive system;
presence of stones in the bladder;
acute and chronic gout;

performing work that requires high concentration of attention and quick reaction.

Cranberry tincture is a useful substitute for wine. The absence of a characteristic alcoholic smell, mild taste, subtle berry notes with sourness will make the drink an ornament of a festive feast.
