Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 20 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

How to make stuffed cucumbers with egg and cod liver? Peel the hard-boiled egg from the shell and grate it on a fine grater. You can just finely chop the egg with a knife. But it is the grated egg that will make the future snack more tender and airy.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

First you need to try to drain as much oil as possible from the can of cod liver. And then mash the liver with a fork.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

Combine grated or crushed chicken egg with cod liver. Add salt and pepper to taste.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Medium-fruited cucumbers need to be washed. Now, with the help of a metal side ring on the peeler, you need to make shallow longitudinal grooves-incisions on the cucumbers. Do not be lazy to take this step for the sake of beauty! Without these stripes, the snack will not look so attractive.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

Cut the cucumbers into small pucks that will be convenient to eat. The so-called "bytes", that is "for one bite". Height not more than 2 cm. And with a teaspoon, carefully, so as not to damage the wall and not cut through the bottom of the bytes, remove the cucumber pulp. We won't need it.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

Fill our billets with liver filling with a slide. And garnish with a slice of lemon and fresh herbs. Done!

Cucumbers for this recipe need to take medium or long-fruited. And, preferably, as smooth as possible. The whole aesthetics depends on it.
This dish will be ideal for the winter season, when such smooth cucumbers are mainly available. And you certainly can't call this snack beaten up. Therefore, it will be able to serve as a worthy decoration for the New Year's feast, in particular.
It is prepared very quickly, and the products, in my opinion, are very affordable at any time of the year.
I did not use cucumber entrails in the recipe, as is usually customary. It seems to me that then the filling will be slightly watery, and the taste will not be so bright. But, of course, it is possible to minimize cucumber losses by using the pulp (all or part of it) for filling bytes.
This time I took smoked cod liver. With her, the snack acquired a slight taste of smoke. Lemon slice complements the rather rich taste of the liver, and cucumber gives juiciness and freshness to the dish.
In general, some advantages. Enjoy your meal!

How to cook hard-boiled eggs? So that the eggs do not crack when cooking, put them in cold water and put them to cook on a small fire. Boil the eggs for 9 minutes after boiling, then pour cold water and cool. From a sharp temperature drop, the shell will be better cleaned.

The skin, if it is not rough, not damaged and not bitter, does not need to be cut off.
