Cooking method

Cooking time: 1 h 30 min

1.. Prepare freshly squeezed juice from oranges and lemons. Rinse a small piece of ginger under water, dry it with a paper towel and peel it. Then grate the ginger through a coarse grater.

2. Next, to prepare the jam, you will need the plum itself. It should already be pitted. Since frozen plum is used in this recipe, it is necessary to first remove it from the freezer and defrost the berries, and then drain the resulting liquid. But to save time, you can also put the frozen plum directly into the pan and immediately start cooking jam. In the first and second cases, the consistency of the finished plum jam may differ from each other, since there will be more liquid in the frozen berries. Also, in the second case, you need to adjust the time for cooking the finished jam in a big way.

3. Put a saucepan with plums on the fire and bring its contents to a boil. Then add sugar and grated ginger to the plums. Pour the orange-lemon juice into a saucepan and mix everything thoroughly together. Cover the pan with a lid and cook the plums over low heat for an hour. At the same time, do not forget to stir the plum mass periodically so that the fruit does not burn to the bottom of the pan. It is necessary to mix with careful movements so as not to damage the pieces of whole berries.

4. Prepare the container for jam rolling. To do this, thoroughly wash the jars with hot water. Then sterilize them over steam or in the microwave. Boil the lids in a saucepan for 5 minutes.

6. Pour the jam cooked from plums into sterilized jars and roll up with clean lids. Put hot jam jars on a horizontal surface (table, floor) with lids down and wrap them with a blanket. Leave the jars like this until they completely cool down, and then move them to a dark place to store for a year.
