To prepare a great treat for children and adults, it is not necessary to use fresh fruits, you can buy fruits or berries (plums, strawberries, cherries, raspberries, etc.) in frozen form. At the same time, they do not need to be boiled at all. Here, for example, is how I cook compote for my household. I buy frozen fruits or berries. I take them out of cellophane or a cardboard box. I let the fruit stand for a while, no more than 15 minutes, so that they do not defrost. Then I wash them in boiled chilled water, put them in vases and pour them with pre-prepared warm syrup. To cook the syrup, I dilute sugar in 1.5 – 2 cups of water, and boil the syrup. For richness of taste, you can add a little wine (muscat, port, etc.), cognac or liqueur to the syrup. Naturally, a drink with alcohol should be served only to adults.
