Classic Limoncello

Cook the most famous Italian lemon liqueur at home. Like most girls, I prefer flavored drinks, because classic limoncello is perfect for me: it can be added to cocktails, drunk in its pure form or diluted with ice. It turned out that it is not necessary to buy it in the store, looking for the original, but it is quite possible to make it at home yourself. The recipe is quite simple, and the output is a good and strong, bright and natural drink.

To begin with, we will need to devote some time to the preparatory processes. You need to thoroughly wash the lemons with running water and pour boiling water over them. Then dry well with cloth or paper towels.

The next step is to remove the lemon peel. A special device for removing the peel will significantly speed up this process. You only need to take a yellow layer for the liquor, without affecting the white one - in this case, the finished drink will not be bitter.

Put the prepared zest in the jar and pour alcohol over it. This will be the basis of limoncello. Hide the jar in the refrigerator in a dark corner for 30 days. Do not forget to seal the jar tightly.

The time has passed - you should do the liquor further. You need to prepare the syrup, for which pour the water into a saucepan, add sugar and bring to a boil and dissolve the sugar. Then cool the resulting syrup to 20-25 degrees.

In a separate container, mix the infused moonshine with syrup and strain. It is better to do this not once, but twice. Pour into glass bottles and let it stand in the refrigerator for at least five more days.

Saluti amici!
