Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 40 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

How to make beef stroganoff from chicken? Prepare the ingredients. Breast fillet: you can take other chicken meat without bones. If the meat is frozen, then it needs to be thawed beforehand. Champignons are fresh, you can also take frozen ones. Sour cream is 15% fat content, if the fat content is large or the sour cream turned out to be less, then at the final stage of cooking, you can pour hot water or broth. From the spices I take ground black pepper, you can add other spices.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Take a deep frying pan or a saucepan with a thick bottom so that it has a lid. Peel the onion and garlic from the husk and cut - garlic finely, onion in half rings. Put the frying pan on a high heat and heat the vegetable oil in it. Put the chopped onion and garlic and fry for a few minutes until the onion is transparent. Instead of fresh garlic, you can take dry garlic and add it a little later, at the stage of adding salt.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

Wash the champignons with running cold water from the remnants of earth and debris. Cut the mushrooms into plates. Add the chopped mushrooms to the frying pan to the onion and garlic and fry for 5-10 minutes (the time will depend on the size of the chopped mushrooms).

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Wash and dry the chicken breast fillet. Cut the chicken into long cubes across the fibers and roll them in flour on all sides. This can be done by rolling in flour each piece in a bowl. Or you can put the chopped chicken in a bag, add flour and shake the closed bag with chicken and flour several times, so the chicken will be evenly covered with flour.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

Add the sliced chicken in flour to the pan with the mushrooms and fry it over medium heat until the chicken color changes. To keep the mushroom plates in their shape, the chicken can be fried in a separate frying pan, and then add to the mushrooms by mixing them.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

Add sour cream, tomato paste, salt, ground black pepper to the pan and mix. Turn down the heat, cover the pan with a lid and simmer beef stroganoff for about 15 minutes.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

Serve chicken beef stroganoff with sour cream and mushrooms hot. As a side dish, you can offer boiled pasta, mashed potatoes, dishes from cereals. When serving, sprinkle the chicken with mushrooms with chopped fresh parsley, dill, basil.

Chicken can be replaced with turkey or any other type of meat at your request. But keep in mind that in this case, the cooking time and calorie content of the dish will change.

So that during the stewing process the sour cream does not curdle and does not delaminate, pre-mix it with a spoonful of flour in a separate bowl, and then add to the pan. You can replace sour cream with cream of any fat content. But remember, the calorie content of the dish depends on the percentage of fat content of the sour cream or cream you use.
