Cooking method

Cooking time: 30 min

For cooking, take fillets of any fish. If it is from the freezer, then it must be defrosted. Just don't do it in hot water. It is better to take the fish out of the freezer in the evening and put it in a colander. For a long time in the heat, it will defrost on its own and all the excess moisture will drain from it by itself. Defrosted fillets sprinkle a little lemon juice. This is necessary in order to remove such an intrusive fishy smell.
Then cut the prepared fillet into small pieces.
For frying, peel the onion, rinse in cold running water. After cold water, when you cut onions, your eyes will not water. It is best to also hold the knife in cold water.

So, chop the peeled onion. Heat the frying pan to a hot state, pour a little vegetable oil on it and put the chopped onion. Fry it for 1-2 minutes before it becomes transparent.
Then add the fish cut into pieces to the pan. Fry everything together for a few minutes. See for yourself the fish. The remaining water from the fish will be in the pan. Therefore, fry so that the water evaporates and the fish browns a little.
At the end of cooking, add sour cream, salt and spices to the pan. Mix with the fish. If the sour cream is thick, then add a little water.
Cover the pan with a lid, reduce the heat and simmer for another 5-7 minutes.

Complete the finished dish with a side dish of mashed potatoes. They are perfectly combined with each other. I especially like the fact that the fish is soaked in sour cream and leaves a delicious, slightly creamy aftertaste. It is the presence of sour cream that makes the fish special, I would even say: with a twist!
Very little time will be spent on preparing such a dish. If desired, you can add carrots. Or you can just bake everything in the oven. But it's up to you to decide, based on your needs and free time.
I wish you a pleasant appetite!
