You can cook such potatoes only on a campfire, no, of course, it will be nice in the oven, but where is the romance, the smell of smoke from food in your hands, a smudge of soot on your nose and burnt fingers? That's right, so we cook baked potatoes with meat on a fire. This is not even a culinary recipe at all, it's just memories of a good vacation with good company in good nature.
But the potatoes should also be good, smooth, so that they are baked all at once, do not pull them out of the fire in turn. Wash it thoroughly and dry it. Cut in half lengthwise, it is impossible to clean in any case, only for the most squeamish you can make an exception. We salt and pepper both halves, and also drop a few drops of vegetable oil on them. On one half we put a circle of onions, and on the other a thin slice of meat. I like it better when meat with fat layers, you can even take smoked, so it turns out even more fragrant. We put the potato halves together and wrap each in foil, 3-4 layers are needed. Bake in a fire when it is almost not burning, and there are a lot of coals. That's how long it takes – I don't know how there was no time to detect it, we just roll out one and try to pierce it. It is pierced – ready, no – back into the fire. But I think about an hour for sure.
