Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 35 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

Take a deep container, pour kefir into it, add vegetable oil. Combine these ingredients until smooth. Then add a little salt and sugar, mix all the components of the container thoroughly so that there is no oily layer on the surface.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Next, pour wheat flour sifted through a sieve into the same container.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

Now add baking powder and begin to knead the dough first with a spoon, then continue to knead the dough with your hands until it stops sticking to your hands, becomes soft, but at the same time it will be elastic. Then cover the container with a towel or a film, leave the dough to rest it for a while.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Grate the hard cheese on a fine grater. We take another clean container, put grated cheese in it, drive in a chicken egg and combine the ingredients. If desired, add a little ground black pepper and salt (if the cheese is not very salty).

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

Take the "rested" dough and divide it into 8 identical portions. From each piece of dough we roll a small ball. Put the dough balls on a board sprinkled with flour and cover with a towel and a film so that the dough does not dry.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

Take one ball of dough and roll it into a thin layer. Put a tablespoon of cheese filling in the center of the dough.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

Next, pinch the edges of the dough from above so that the filling is inside the future tortilla. We do the same procedure with the rest of the dough balls.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8.

Lightly sprinkle the blanks with flour. With the help of a rolling pin, we roll them out, forming cakes from them.

  9. Step 9:

    Step 9.

When the cakes are ready, take a frying pan with a thick bottom, lightly lubricate it with vegetable oil and put the pan to warm up over medium heat. Next, put the tortillas in a frying pan and fry them on both sides until golden brown.

  10. Step 10:

    Step 10.

Lubricate the finished tortillas with a small amount of butter. We serve them to the table immediately, while they are warm. They are very good in combination with sour cream and sour cream-garlic sauce, as sour cream shades the salty taste of cheese and makes the tortillas even more tender to the taste.
