Stewed potatoes with stewed meat in a slow cooker

Delicious and hearty dish of potatoes and stew. You can serve it with black and white bread or tortillas. Canned cucumbers are also good for this dish. But you can also make a salad of fresh vegetables, especially if the vegetable season is in full swing. If it becomes necessary to shift the potatoes from the slow cooker, then do it only after it has completely cooled down - otherwise it will turn sour. Do not forget to sprinkle the dish with fresh dill, parsley or onion when serving.

Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 30 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

How to make stewed potatoes with stewed meat in a slow cooker? Peel the potatoes, wash and cut into medium-sized pieces. Then wash well again under running water to remove the starch that has been released - otherwise the potatoes will turn out solid. The taste of the dish will depend on the potato variety.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Peel the onion and cut it into half or quarter rings - depending on what size it is. Onions can take more than two pieces (as indicated in the recipe), especially if it is not very large.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

Remove the stew from the jar, transfer to a bowl and mash with a fork. Stew should be taken proven - of good quality, and best of all home-made.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Put the potatoes in the bowl of the slow cooker first - we do not lubricate the bottom of the bowl with anything.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

    Pour the onion on top.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

Then pour in the stew. I put all the contents of the jar. Please note that I do not top up the water - my stew is juicy by itself. If you have it a little dry, pour in a little water. If there is too little fat in it, add fat as well, preferably pork.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

Add salt and bay leaf. I used crushed in the size of 1 teaspoon with a slide. Mix everything well with a large wooden spoon or spatula so as not to damage the non-stick coating of the slow cooker. Turn on the slow cooker to the "quenching" mode for 25 minutes. I have a multi-cooker with a capacity of 700 W, in it the "quenching" mode is set by default for 1 hour - I have reduced the time.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8.

It took me 25 minutes for the potatoes to be fully cooked and, at the same time, not too boiled. The time can always be adjusted, depending on the speed of cooking potatoes, which will be influenced by the variety of potatoes and the power of the slow cooker. The main thing is to try the dish on time for readiness. During the heat treatment, you can stir the potatoes once or twice, but no more so that the puree does not come out.

Delicious potatoes in a short time. Just 30 minutes - and lunch is on the table. You will only have to prepare the vegetables - the multicooker will do the rest for you.

Keep in mind that the cooking time and mode are indicated approximately in the recipe. All slow cookers work differently and even the same models of the same manufacturer may have their own characteristics. Before you start cooking a new dish for you in a slow cooker, carefully study the instructions for it, and then in practice try to cook dishes that are familiar to you first, and then new ones, choosing the mode and time individually for your own technique.

If you use ready-made spice mixes, be sure to read the composition on the package. Often, salt is already present in such mixtures, take this into account, otherwise you risk over-salting the dish.
