  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

How to quickly and deliciously put out the hake with onions and carrots in a frying pan? First of all, remove the hake from the freezer and leave it to defrost at room temperature. Which fish is better to use? I took hake in the recipe, but you can cook any fish in this way.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

For faster defrosting, immerse the fish in cool water. After the hake thaws, drain the water, and dry the carcasses with paper napkins. Gut the fish, peel off the scales and cut off the sharp fins. Rinse under running water and dry again.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

    Prepare all the other products.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Peel carrots, onions and garlic. Cut the bell pepper in half, remove the core and seeds. Rinse the vegetables in clean water.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

Cut the carrot into thin strips, onion and tomato into small cubes, pepper into half rings, and chop the garlic arbitrarily. If desired, remove the peel from the tomato beforehand.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

Cut the hake into pieces about 4-5 centimeters wide.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

Heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan. If possible, use a frying pan with thick edges and bottom. Add the onion, carrot and pepper to fry. Cook the vegetables over high heat, stirring, for about 7 minutes.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8.

Then add tomatoes and garlic, cook for about 5 more minutes. Do not forget to mix everything, otherwise the vegetables will burn.

  9. Step 9:

    Step 9.

Add salt and pepper to the vegetable mass, add bay leaf and favorite spices if desired.

  10. Step 10:

    Step 10.

Put the pieces of fish in the pan, lightly pressing into the vegetables.

  11. Step 11:

    Step 11.

Pour boiling water so that it covers the hake almost to the top.

  12. Step 12:

    Step 12.

After boiling, reduce the heat to a minimum, cover the pan with a lid and cook for 20 minutes (after 10 minutes from the start of cooking, open the lid, turn each piece to the other side, so the fish will be soaked with vegetable sauce as much as possible and evenly salted, then simmer for another 10 minutes).

  13. Step 13:

    Step 13.

Pepper the finished dish and sprinkle with pre-chopped fresh herbs. Ready!

Cooking hake with vegetables is not difficult and relatively fast. It turns out a very tasty and juicy fish, which can be offered as an independent dish or served in addition to porridge, pasta, mashed potatoes and much more.

Be sure to try it!

Bon appetit!

Keep in mind that the final result in this dish also depends on how you chop the carrots: grated carrots will turn into mush during heat treatment and mix evenly with the rest of the ingredients, cut into strips or cubes will retain their shape.

How easy is it to peel tomatoes? Wash them, make criss-cross incisions on top with a sharp knife. Put it in boiling water for 1-2 minutes. Remove, cool slightly and peel.

Tomatoes in this recipe can be replaced with ketchup, tomatoes in their own juice or tomato paste. Choose the proportions to your taste.
