Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 50 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

How delicious is it to bake potatoes in a spiral for a festive table? For this dish, it is better to use large tubers of oval shape. We cook at the rate of one large potato per person. Wash the potatoes thoroughly with a brush and rinse in clean water. Dry the tubers with paper napkins.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Pierce each potato through with an iron skewer in the center. For the recipe, you can use wooden skewers, but they are a little harder to pierce raw potatoes, you can break a wooden stick.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

With a sharp small knife, make an incision on top of the potatoes, as in the photo.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Without pulling out the knife, cut the potatoes along in a spiral, constantly resting the knife blade on the skewer. Make the size of the plates of potatoes about 0.7-1 cm.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

Then slightly stretch the potatoes to form a spiral.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

Do the same with the rest of the potatoes.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

Prepare the marinade. In a small container, mix vegetable oil, soy sauce, black and red ground peppers. Peel the garlic clove and pass it through the press. Send it to the marinade, mix everything thoroughly. If desired, you can add any favorite seasoning at this stage.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8.

Using a silicone brush, lubricate each potato with marinade on the outside and inside of the "spring".

  9. Step 9:

    Step 9.

Cover the baking sheet with baking paper. Put the skewers with potatoes on a sheet, send them to a preheated oven for 20-25 minutes.

  10. Step 10:

    Step 10.

While the potatoes are baking, prepare the sprinkles. Mix finely chopped herbs and cheese. For the recipe, I used a mixture of frozen Provencal herbs and Parmesan cheese.

  11. Step 11:

    Step 11.

Sprinkle each spring liberally with herbs and cheese.

  12. Step 12:

    Step 12.

Put it back in the oven for another 10-15 minutes.

  13. Step 13:

    Step 13.

The finished spring can be served on skewers.

  14. Step 14:

    Step 14.

Or carefully remove the skewers, and slightly stretch the potatoes on the plate, as in the photo. Spectacular and very beautiful!

It takes skill to cut potatoes smoothly and neatly. The first potato may not turn out at all, but by the third or fourth tuber, the slicing process is usually faster and better.

Such potatoes look very attractive on the festive table. The spring is very tasty hot and cold.

The taste of the finished potatoes largely depends on what kind of cheese you use and what kind of greens are available.

Be sure to try it!

Bon appetit!

Root vegetables are best washed with a brush or a hard sponge under running water.
