moldovan vertuta with apples in the oven

A simple recipe that will give you the opportunity to show your imagination. Such pastries are prepared by our mother-in-law when we come to visit her. This culinary recipe was passed down in her family from generation to generation. Vertuta is very easy to cook. Another merit of such food is that the filling can be prepared the way you like. You can bake a sweet vertuta, or you can make it with potatoes, fried onions and mushrooms.

The dough for the vertuta is made very simply. We take half a kilogram of flour, pour one glass of water into it gradually. Add a pinch of salt and 3 tablespoons of sunflower oil. Knead the uncool dough and put it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes. During this time, it is easy to prepare the filling. Grate the pumpkin and mix it with sugar. You can take an apple. If you want a savory filling, cook the potatoes, fry the mushrooms with onions and mix everything. Mother-in-law cooks for us as a sweet meal a vertuta with walnuts, rose petals, which she collects at her dacha, finely cuts and sprinkles with sugar. It turns out very tasty.
As soon as the filling is prepared, we pull the dough out of the refrigerator. Cut into several pieces. Roll out thinly. We put the filling and roll it up like a roll. We coat it with a strong black tea brew and bake it in the oven for 25 minutes at 200 degrees.
Bon appetit!
