Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 1 h 10 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

How to make a cupcake with prunes? Prepare the necessary ingredients. Butter should be at room temperature, so take it out of the refrigerator in advance. Take large, selected eggs. Cognac can be replaced with gin, rum and other similar alcoholic beverages. Prunes are better to take a large one without seeds. Use flour of the highest grade.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Wash the prunes, dry them and remove the seeds, if any. Cut the dried fruits into small pieces. I just cut it in half.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

Pour cognac over the prunes and leave to infuse for 20-30 minutes. If the prunes are very dry and hard, then pre-pour the prunes with boiling water and leave for 10 minutes. Then drain the water, and pour the prunes with brandy.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Chop the chocolate into small pieces. You can replace bitter chocolate with dark chocolate.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

In a bowl, combine the soft butter at room temperature and sugar. Beat everything with a mixer until fluffy.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

Add the eggs one at a time, beating the mass after each.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

A lush homogeneous mass should be obtained.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8.

Pour the sifted flour with cocoa and baking powder and mix with a mixer.

  9. Step 9:

    Step 9.

Add prunes to the dough along with cognac, chocolate cut into small pieces and mix everything again with a spatula. Prunes and chocolate should be evenly distributed over the dough.

  10. Step 10:

    Step 10.

Put the dough in a greased cake pan. I have a shape size of 21cm by 11cm. Bake the chocolate cake with prunes for about 40 minutes in a preheated 180°C oven. The exact baking time depends on the characteristics of your oven. I left the cupcake in the cooling oven for another 10 minutes.

  11. Step 11:

    Step 11.

Cool the finished cupcake, remove from the mold and, if desired, sprinkle with powdered sugar. Bon appetit!

Keep in mind that everyone's ovens are different. The temperature and cooking time may differ from those specified in the recipe. To make any baked dish successful, use useful information about the features of ovens !

In order for the oven to have time to heat up to the desired temperature, turn it on in advance (10-20 minutes before the start of cooking).

When the top layer of baking is slightly browned, check it for readiness: pierce it with a wooden skewer in several places, if the skewer comes out dry, then the mold (or baking sheet) can be taken out of the oven.
