Berlin puff pastry

Puff crumbly cake with a lemon note! Berlin cake is an easy–to-prepare pastry. You will need a yeast-free puff pastry, it should be pre-thawed. If desired, such cakes can be prepared from their own dough. The glaze is prepared with the addition of lemon juice, due to which a very tasty and fragrant fudge is obtained. Icing sugar can be prepared without cooking with the addition of starch. Such cakes can be served with hot tea, apple compote, milk or yogurt.

Cooking method

1. Defrost the puff pastry and roll it out a little. Lubricate the layer with water with a brush and sprinkle with sugar.
2. Roll the dough into a roll on both sides. Cut into pieces 1-2 cm thick .
3. Cover the baking sheet with paper, lay out the blanks and flatten slightly on top. Put in a preheated 180 degree oven and cook for 20-25 minutes.
4. Dissolve sugar in water, bring to a boil and add lemon juice. Cool the glaze and beat with a mixer until white.
5. Cover the layered products with glaze, leave for a while so that the glaze dries. Serve to the table with tea. Bon appetit!
