We start by taking a thawed layer of ready-made yeast puff pastry and rolling it out. We cut the dough into squares of the same size (about 10x10 centimeters) and spread the nut filling on them. To do this, beat the egg whites into a dense foam, mix with flour, ground nuts, lemon zest and vanilla. After that, we fold the dough layer in half and pinch the edges well so that the filling does not leak out. Now we put our buns on a pre-oiled baking sheet and lubricate the buns with egg. We put the baking sheet in a preheated 180 degree oven for 15-20 minutes.
