Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 1 h 10 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

Preparing the products for the preparation of the recipe. Wash thoroughly and dry the raisins. Sift the flour.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Carefully separate the yolks into a deep container (leave 1 tsp of yolk, - it will be useful to us when decorating the flowers from the dough), mix them with one tablespoon of powdered sugar and a pinch of vanilla.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

Pour in the milk, add sour cream, salt and mix until smooth.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Add three quarters of flour and knead the steep dough. If the dough sticks to your hands, add the rest of the flour to it. Flour goes from 250 to 300 gr.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

Put the dough in a plastic bag and let it stand for 15-20 minutes at room temperature. The standing dough becomes more elastic, it is easier to work with it.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

Divide the dough into 3 parts for convenience. From each part we roll out a thin cake, no more than 2-3 mm thick. From the rolled dough, we cut out paired circles with glasses or glasses with a thin border (or special cookie molds). At the same time, in a pair, one circle should be larger in diameter than the second.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

We make 5-6 incisions with a knife on each circle, without affecting the core. Thus, we outline the petals of future flowers.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8.

Then we put the smaller circle on the larger one. In the center, we press well with the pad of our finger so that they are fastened together. In the middle of each flower, we press the zest with the side that is smeared with egg yolk, left especially for this purpose (1 teaspoon). The yolk works like glue. If this is not done, the raisins will fall off from the flowers during deep frying.

  9. Step 9:

    Step 9.

You can also cut the rolled dough into strips. Use a knife to make obliquely incisions. Twigs-leaves will turn out.

  10. Step 10:

    Step 10.

Put a cauldron or a suitable pan with oil on the fire and after it heats up, fry the prepared brushwood. When roasting, the brushwood is turned over so that it is evenly browned on both sides. The brushwood is being prepared very quickly, so we do not leave the stove at this time, literally after 2-4 minutes it needs to be removed (the time depends on the stove).

  11. Step 11:

    Step 11.

We put the finished brushwood on a plate with a napkin so that excess fat is absorbed into it.

  12. Step 12:

    Step 12.

Then liberally sprinkle the still warm brushwood with sifted powdered sugar. We invite everyone to drink tea and coffee and enjoy!
