Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 20 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

How to make peanuts in sugar? Prepare the products. Peanuts will suit any — fresh, fried, peeled or not. If the nuts are raw, it is better to wash them, and then dry them with a paper towel. I took fried with salt, I like the combination of salty and sweet. Sugar and water will need the same amount.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Pour sugar into a bowl, pour in the same amount of water. Stir the water with a spoon until the sugar dissolves. You can even leave it for 5 minutes, then it will dissolve even better.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

Put a frying pan on the fire. It is better if it is with a thick bottom and non-stick coating. Pour the nuts into the pan. Fry them over medium heat until light golden brown, if they were raw. If the peanuts are unpeeled, then wait until the husk starts to come off, pour it into a plate and peel it. Then return to the pan. Just bring the roasted peanuts to a hot state.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Pour water with sugar into the pan. It will boil right away. Then you do not need to do anything — just wait for all the liquid to boil off, and the sugar will turn into caramel.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

It will take from 10 to 15 minutes, occasionally you can stir the nuts so that they cook evenly.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

Gradually the sugar will start to brown, the nuts will fry, and the whole mass will thicken.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

As soon as this happens, do not leave the frying pan. Make the fire small and stir the nuts constantly. There will come a time when there will be no liquid left at all — all the nuts will be evenly covered with caramel. At this point, turn off the heating. Do not be afraid that the caramel will still be liquid. It will cool down and harden.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8.

I made a mistake and left the nuts to cool in the pan. Then I had to reheat it to melt the caramel. It is better to put the hot nuts on a plate greased with vegetable oil. The caramel will harden and you will be able to break it in separate pieces. Store the nuts in a closed container. Bon appetit!

For cooking, it is better to use filtered or bottled water that is neutral to taste. If you use tap water, keep in mind that it can give the dish an unpleasant characteristic taste.

Important! An incorrectly selected frying pan can ruin even the best recipe. All the details on how to choose the perfect frying pan for different dishes read here .
