Cosmopolitan Classic Cocktail

Cocktail with medium strength and pleasant sourness. A beautiful pink color, with a slight reddish tint. The cocktail was created in the 70s, later its composition was slightly changed by the bartender Cheryl Cook, then Toby Cecchini made his own small changes to her version. Today, both versions of the preparation of this cocktail are considered classic and correct, because they appeared almost simultaneously. It is classified as a cocktail for the whole day. It is one of the official cocktails of the International Association of Bartenders.

Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 20 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 6.

    Clear the glass of ice by filtering out the cocktail. Serve immediately. A glass with "Cosmopolitan" it is not customary to decorate, in rare cases, a thin slice of lime, lemon or orange can be put on one of its walls. For me, serving with a slice of citrus is more desirable and positive. If desired, you can drink it through a short tube.

According to the rules of alcoholic etiquette "Cosmopolitan", cooked according to any of the recipes is served only in a glass intended for the consumption of martinis. It is believed that only their shape allows you to preserve and fully reveal all its taste and aroma.

Initially, this popular cocktail was created as a substitute for a Martini, but especially for women.

Today, it is in demand among both men and women. It is drunk by different people and in different situations, which only emphasizes its versatility and pleasant taste.

I would like to say that for women this is a really pleasant drink in all respects. Despite the fact that it contains vodka, it is drunk easily, leaving a pleasant citrus aftertaste.

And as you can see, it's not difficult to cook it at home, you don't even have to have a professional shaker and strainer. But Cointreau liqueur, with any possible citrus substitutes, I would leave.

The main ingredients for the Cosmopolitan cocktail are used in the following ratios:
* Cointreau liqueur - 1 part
* lemon vodka - 3 parts
* lime juice - 1/2 part
* cranberry juice - 2 parts

Consume in moderation, it is easy to drink, but you can "gain" quickly.
