Horseradish is a traditional home-made alcoholic drink that has been loved by our people for a long time. It is used not only on holidays, but also for medicinal purposes.

Traditional horseradish consists of only two components - vodka and horseradish itself. The recipe for its preparation is quite simple.

First of all, you will need horseradish, or rather its root part. The root needs to be washed, cleaned and finely chopped. In this case, it is better not to rub horseradish on a grater, but simply to chop it with an ordinary kitchen knife. Otherwise, the finished product will turn cloudy and whitish, and it will be much more difficult to strain it. And horseradish cut into small pieces will enrich the taste of the drink much better and make horseradish a beautiful translucent yellowish shade.

Pour the prepared horseradish root into a jar or other glass container and pour vodka. Close the jar tightly with a lid and put it in a dark, cool place for 2 weeks. Periodically, once a day, the jar needs to be shaken so that the ingredients mix better with each other.

The duration of the infusion of the drink can vary from more to less, but not less than 3 days. It is important to take into account the fact that the more the drink is infused, the stronger it becomes. However, you should not keep the tincture for more than a month - it can get a bitter taste. By tasting the product, you can easily determine whether the horseradish has been infused enough.

As soon as the taste of the finished horseradish turns out to be perfect, it must be filtered through several layers of gauze, and it is better to take medical cotton wool for these purposes. Pour the filtered tincture into a beautiful container and you can serve it to the table. Store the finished tincture in the refrigerator. To soften the tart taste of horseradish, it is better to drink the drink with sliced lemon. Bon appetit!
