Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 1 h
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

Take hard apples to make compote. Carefully inspect them for damage. Choose whole fruits. Wash the apples from dirt. Cut each apple into 4 pieces and remove the core. Fold the sliced apples into a clean 2-liter jar.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Add the washed berries of chokeberry, red currant and strawberry to the jar.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

Bring the water to a boil separately. Pour the entire contents of the jar with boiling water to the very top. Cover with a lid and let stand for 15 minutes. During this time, all the contents will warm up.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Then drain all the liquid from the jar into the pan, leaving all the berries in the jar. Add sugar to the pan and put it on the fire. Bring to a boil and boil for 2-3 minutes, so that all the sugar is well dissolved.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

Pour boiling syrup over the entire contents of the jar again. Pour the syrup all the way to the top so that there is no empty space. Close the compote with an airtight lid. Pre-cover the lids with boiling water.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

Turn the closed compote upside down. In this way, the container is checked for tightness. Syrup should not ooze anywhere. It should be dry. Wrap the inverted jars in a blanket and cool in this form.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

Remove the cooled compote in a cool place for long-term storage. This compote will delight you on cold, winter evenings. Have a nice treat!

For compote preparation, the number of ingredients is practically conditional. Usually it is enough to put the ingredients on 1/3 of the jar. But, if you want a more saturated drink, then you can fill the cans for half or even the entire volume of the jar. The more filling, the richer the compote.
The amount of sugar depends on the sweetness of the original fruit. If you do not want to add extra sugar, but you are afraid that the compote may ferment, then, when cooking the syrup, add 1/3 teaspoon of citric acid. It serves as a kind of preservatives for compote.
Cook with pleasure!
