Dumplings with potatoes

Fast, simple, satisfying and very, very tasty Ukrainian dish! Dumplings with potatoes were cooked by my grandmother, so I associate this dish with childhood and cause nostalgia. It is delicious and satisfying, suitable as a side dish to meat. But you can also eat as an independent dish.

Cooking method

Cooking time: 40 min

Let's start cooking this dish by peeling potatoes. Cut it into large cubes. Put a saucepan with salted water on the stove, put potatoes in it to cook.

At this time we will do dumplings. Melt the butter, pour it into a bowl, add half a cup of water there, break the eggs, put salt. Mix everything thoroughly.

Sift the flour. Make a recess in the mound of flour, pour in a mixture of oil, water and eggs. Knead the dough. The dough should be soft, not too steep. Divide the dough into parts - roll bundles from each.

10-15 minutes have passed. Cut each flagellum into pieces and throw it into a pot of boiling water. Cook the dumplings until they are ready - until they pop up. Potatoes will also just have to be cooked.

While the potatoes and dumplings are cooking, peel and cut the onion into half rings. Fry it in a frying pan with butter until golden, add salt to taste.

Put the finished dumplings and potatoes in a colander, then spread them on serving plates. This should be done quickly so that they do not have time to cool down. Put fried onions on top, sprinkle with ground pepper. Season with sour cream and serve.

Bon appetit!
