Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 50 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

How to make turtle salad with chicken and walnuts? Boil the chicken fillet in boiling salted water until tender - this is about 25 minutes. I got one fillet for 300 grams. Remove it from the broth and let it cool. In parallel, boil hard-boiled eggs - it will take 10 minutes. Cool them in cold water.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Peel and finely chop the onion. Pour hot water for 5 minutes to remove the bitterness. Drain the water.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

Cut chicken fillet into small pieces. Divide four eggs (two will be left for decoration) into yolks and whites and grate separately from each other on a fine grater. Grate the melted cheese on a coarse grater.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Peel the apples and grate the pulp on a coarse grater. It turns out mush.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

Let's start assembling the salad. I put dill on the dish, which acts as a litter, which can then be removed along with the crumbs left over from the salad assembly. Put the chicken fillet in the first layer. I pre-mixed it with mayonnaise - it's more convenient for me, because the layer then adheres well and does not disintegrate. You can put the dry fillet and liberally smear it with mayonnaise on top.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

Lay out the onion with the second layer - I didn't lubricate it with mayonnaise.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

The third layer is egg whites, the layer also goes without mayonnaise.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8.

The fourth layer is apple mush, without mayonnaise.

  9. Step 9:

    Step 9.

The fifth layer is melted cheese.

  10. Step 10:

    Step 10.

After the fifth layer, smear with mayonnaise not only the layer itself, but also the entire salad structure.

  11. Step 11:

    Step 11.

The sixth layer is egg yolks, which we sprinkle on the salad from all sides. On this layer, you need to apply mayonnaise (you can dot it) so that it binds the next layer.

  12. Step 12:

    Step 12.

The final seventh layer is chopped walnuts, with which we complete the image of the turtle. Remove the litter of dill, if you also laid it.

  13. Step 13:

    Step 13.

Make the turtle's head and paws out of the remaining two eggs: for the head, the whole, for the paws, cut the egg into 4 parts. Use black pepper peas as peepholes. Pierce the places for the peepholes with the tip of a knife in the shape of a cross. Put fresh dill around the turtle.

This salad can be served on any holidays, especially for children.

It is better to prepare mayonnaise yourself. It will be tastier and healthier. See here interesting recipes for homemade mayonnaise.
Also, as a dressing, you can use not only mayonnaise, but also sour cream or natural yogurt. They can be taken separately or mixed with mayonnaise in any proportion to your taste - this will reduce the calorie content of the dish.

How to cook hard-boiled eggs? So that the eggs do not crack when cooking, put them in cold water and put them to cook on a small fire. Boil the eggs for 9 minutes after boiling, then pour cold water and cool. From a sharp temperature drop, the shell will be better cleaned.
